Viewer Limitations

Very large documents
For converted documents, besides the actual document rendition, the viewer requires meta-information for each page and a text index with words and positions to provide search within the document, highlighting and interactive search-based redaction.
When you view very large documents in Near Native or Redaction view, the amount of data sent to the browser is limited to prevent out-of-memory errors. This results in the following limitations:
  • The text index created during conversion gets dropped. A warning message displays at the top of the viewer pane to notify you this has occurred: Highlighting and searching of document text is not enabled due to the complexity of this document; metadata searching is enabled.
  • Document search in Near Native and Redaction view, highlighting and interactive search-based redactions are also disabled. You can still view and redact the document manually and use global redaction.

Tip: To proactively locate the affected documents and optionally segregate them for review, use the Conversion Smart Filter. The documents are flagged Converted - Text index dropped.
