De-Duplication

De-duplication removes duplicates and, for traceability, enriches the metadata of the primary document by duplicate metadata.

De-duplication takes place during publishing or matter export. De-duplication affects standalone documents and families, but only if all family members are identical with the respective documents of another family.

De-duplication is not applied to documents that are only duplicates by content, but have different document characteristics. For example, a standalone document and an attachment with the same content are not affected by de-duplication.

De-duplication is possible on matter and on custodian level.

De-duplication speeds up the review process by avoiding that duplicates are published.

Note: You cannot use de-duplication if your productions need to contain all duplicates.
