Document Selection

Documents must be selected before you can proceed with some actions, such as tagging on the Analysis page, bulk tagging, applying bulk redactions, and ad hoc review batch creation. You can select one document or many using the techniques described below:

Check box
Select the check box for a document in the Results list on the Analysis page or in associated results view to select it.
Select Button
Click the Select button in the Tagging panel to select the document you are currently viewing and activate the Tagging panel. This option is available on the Analysis page and in associated results view.
Select + Next Button
Click the Save + Next button in the Tagging panel to select the document you are currently viewing and automatically move to the next document in the list. This option is available on the Analysis page and in associated results view and is often used in conjunction with bulk tagging.
Shift + Click
Shift + Click is a keyboard shortcut that allows you to select a range of documents. Select the check box for a document in the Results list on the Analysis page or in associated results view. Hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and then select the check box for the last document in the list that you want selected; all documents in between are auto-selected.
Selection Menu
The selection menu can be used to select multiple documents:
  • Select All Visible - Selects all documents displayed on the current page of the Results list or in the current associated results list.
  • Select Entire Results List - Selects all documents in the Results list on the Analysis page.
  • Select Range - Selects a range of documents on the Analysis page using their current position number. The position number is found in the Pos column of the Results list; this number is not static and will vary depending on the Results list sort order.

Tip: The From position defaults to 1 if a number is not entered. The To position defaults to the last position of the Results list if a number is not entered.
Select Range can be used multiple times to select different ranges without resetting prior selections.

  • Toggle - Reverses your current document selections.
  • Deselect All - Removes all document selections.

Important: If you use the Toggle function, the document you are currently viewing is no longer selected. Similarly, if you use the Select Range option of the selection menu, depending on your selected range, the document you are currently viewing may not be part of the selected document set.
