Work Time Logging
For the productivity dashboard, Business Intelligence provides information on review and non-review times that a user spent in a matter.
The time between a user’s login and logout is logged. Any point in time is only logged for one activity. There is no overlapping between time spans.
Time is logged for one of these work types:
- Analysis
- There is user activity on the Analysis page while the viewer panel is not open.
- Arrangements
- User activity on the Arrangements page.
- Assignments
- User activity on the Assignments page.
- Business Intelligence
- User activity on the Business Intelligence page.
- Concept Browser
- User activity on the Concept Browser page.
- Fields and Values
- User activity on the Fields and Values page.
- Hypergraph
- User activity on the Hypergraph page.
- Jobs
- User activity on the Jobs page.
- Other
- Time is logged as other if there is user activity which cannot be logged as any other work type.
- Preconversion Rules
- User activity on the Preconversion Rules page.
- Preferences
- User activity on the Preferences page.
- Production Workflows
- User activity on the Production Workflows page.
- Reports
- User activity on the Reports page.
- Review
- Time is logged as review time in these cases:
- There is user activity on the Review page.
- There is user activity on the Analysis page while the viewer panel is open.
- Review Workflows
- User activity on the Review Workflows page.
- Settings
- User activity on the Settings page.
- Templates
- User activity on the Templates page.
Times of inactivity
If there is no user activity for 15 minutes or longer no activity is logged.
Activity on the Navigation or Processing pages is not logged, because it cannot be assigned to a specific matter.
How time spans are calculated
The time spans are calculated from ping events that are sent for user activities every 2 minutes. Ping events create a new time span or extend the time span if the previous ping event is related to the same activity.
Time spans are considered as inactivity spans if there are no related ping events for a certain period.
A time span is always assigned to one matter. If a user is working simultaneously on two matters, the time span needed for switching between the matters, until the next ping event, is logged for the matter the user left.
