Review Page vs. Review in Context

Differences between working on the Review page or in Review in Context are outlined below, to help you decide which type of review will best meet your needs.

Feature Review in Context Review page

Two-screen mode

Review in Context automatically opens in a new browser window.

When you activate two-screen mode, the full Results list, the Search and Visualization panels open together in a new browser window. The original window displays the Associated Results list for the current document, an expanded Viewer panel and the Tagging panel.

Related documents grouped together

Yes, when the related documents are in the document set being viewed. Parent documents are followed by their attachments. End of branch emails are followed by their attachments and then by emails that are part of the same email thread. A thread may have more than one end of branch email if the thread diverted at some point; these emails are also grouped with their related thread members.

If you are in a review batch, documents may be grouped per the batching template settings, that is, by Custodian, Data Source Name or Document Date.

Bulk tagging

When you have viewed all members of a review group, an option in the Tagging panel allows you to apply the same tags to all documents in the group.

Similarly, when duplicates exist in the same document set, an option in the Tagging panel allows you to apply the same tags to those duplicates.

Yes, when you click the icon for an associated document set, you can then select multiple documents within that set which activates the Bulk Tagging panel.

Results list page navigation The Results list is not divided into pages. You use a scroll bar to move up or down in the list.

The Results list is divided into pages based on your user preferences.

Metadata in card view

Fields that display are based on each document's MIME type. Metadata displays for the current review group only.

Fields can be highlighted in red font to call attention to key items, such as Office Flags.

Same fields display for all documents, all the time.

Highlighting not available unless you run a search.

Viewed document indicator displays in card view, so you can see which documents you viewed, but did not yet tag with a target review state. Not available.
Indicators that a document has been tagged

A check mark in card view indicates the review state field has been tagged.

Card color indicates when a document is:

  1. Tagged privileged
  2. Marked for redaction
  3. Tagged responsive
tag icon displays in a document's card view. A green icon indicates you tagged the document. A gray icon indicates the document was tagged by another user.
Access to family members that exist outside of the current document set being viewed

No access; however, a Show additional family members outside the selection icon in card view alerts you to missing family members and provides a list of IDs for the missing documents.

Note: Not available for users with a Reviewer user role.

Yes, if you are working in a review batch. Use the select the Show Associated Results outside of batch setting.

Access to duplicates and near duplicates that exist outside of the current document set being viewed

Yes, if they have been tagged with a review state value for any level of review.

Yes, you can switch the Results list to the Search panel or open two-screen mode to access the Search panel.
