Family Inclusion

After you run a search, you may wish to pull in family members, so complete families display in the Document Result List. To do so, click Include Family , located to the right of the search bar. The applied family inclusion displays in the Search Parameters panel.

Click in the Search Parameters panel to remove the family inclusion.

Note: Family inclusion is automatically removed if you apply a key word search, add a non-sticky family inclusion, and run a new key word search. It is also removed if you modify and rerun the initial key word search.

Sticky family inclusion

To run a key word search across the complete family search results without the family inclusion being removed, make family inclusion sticky. To do so, hold SHIFT and then select the include family option.

If you click , the sticky family inclusion is removed, but it reappears if you run a new key word search. If you apply a Smart Filter instead of a key word search, you will need to add the family inclusion again; however, once added it is automatically sticky.

Activation of family inclusion disables certain features

Depending on when you activate the include family option in Axcelerate Ingestion or CORE Administration, you will encounter the following:

Sticky option for Smart Filters is disabled
If you apply a search query and then activate the include family option, the sticky option for all Smart Filters is disabled in both CORE Administration and Axcelerate Ingestion. You can still apply non-sticky Smart Filters to your search result.

You search for global warming and use the MIME type filter to locate Microsoft Word documents. You now want to see if any of the Word documents were attached to emails. You activate the include family option and then apply a non-sticky MIME type filter, this time for the application/msoutlook value, which returns just Microsoft Outlook family documents.

Actions menu options is disabled
If you apply a search query, activate the include family option, and then apply a Smart Filter or run a Search in search, these Action menu options are disabled in CORE Administration:
  • Save as global search
  • Document security
And, these Action menu options are disabled in Axcelerate Ingestion:
  • Save as global search
  • Store search
  • Delete documents
Reports menu is disabled
If you apply a search query, activate the include family option, and then apply another Smart Filter or run a Search in search, the Reports menu is fully disabled in both CORE Administration and Axcelerate Ingestion.
Add search to matter is disabled
If you apply a search query, activate the include family option, and then apply another Smart Filter or run a Search in search, the Add search to matter option is disabled in Axcelerate Ingestion.
