How to Use Quick Tags
Important: If you are using quick tags with Review in Context, also see this topic: Quick Tags and Review in Context.
To preview a quick tag, hover your mouse on a quick tag number and the Quick Tag fly-in displays the associated tagging combination. The fly-in displays values in tri-state mode, so you known which values will be added, which will be cleared and which will be left unchanged.
Quick Tag fly-in
Tip: CTRL +
SHIFT+<quick tag
ID>
also displays the fly-in.
To apply a quick tag:
- On the Review page, click on a quick tag number to apply the associated tagging combination to the current document and be auto-moved to the next document.
- On the Analysis page, hover on a quick tag and when the Quick Tag fly-in displays, move your mouse into the fly-in and click Save + Next to tag the document, save the applied tags and be moved to the next document. Alternatively, click a quick tag number to apply the tagging and then click Save+Next in the Tagging panel to save the applied tags and move to the next document.
Note: Before applying a quick tag, you can make ad hoc changes in the Quick Tag fly-in. These changes are only applied to the selected documents and do not modify the quick tag itself.
Once coding has been applied to a document, L and U quick tags may also display. Use the L quick tag to tag the next document exactly the same as the previous document. Use the U quick tag to tag the next document with only the tags you applied to the previous document; any preexisting tags remain unchanged.
Tip: Once you learn the tagging combination of each quick tag, you can use CTRL+
<quick tag ID>
to apply a quick tag immediately,
without previewing it.
