Configure a Universe
You should configure a universe for the following reasons:
- After you create a universe, you can update the universe configuration to include a target review state, a default batching method and batching template. If you then add a review workflow to the universe, it inherits those settings. When users later add documents to the review workflow for batching, they will have those settings populated by default.
- Once an estimation sample is created and at least one review workflow has been added to the universe, you can update the universe configuration to link it to the sample and also set a target workflow. These settings populate metrics on the Mission Control > Review Workflows page and the Predictive Coding Dashboard (if Predictive Coding will be used); metrics that will provide a meaningful overview of review status and efficacy.
To configure a universe:
- Navigate to the Mission Control > Review Workflows page and select the appropriate universe from the universe menu.
- In the Actions column for Scopes and Samples, click
and then select
Configure. - You can configure these settings:
- Target Review State
- Target review state of the universe, used for counts in the overview area of the Review Summary. This target review state is also the default for workflows when they are created. The target review state of existing workflows is not changed.
- Estimation Sample
- Default sample that is used to estimate the quality of the complete universe review, the review quality for single workflows, and for Predictive Coding. All workflows created within the universe use this sample.
- Target Workflow
- Review workflow on which the universe’s review and Predictive Coding counts are based. The counts are used in the overview area in the universe’s Review Summary.
- Batching
- Default batching method to be used by newly created samples and workflows. Settings of existing samples and workflows are not changed.
- If adaptive batching is enabled, documents are automatically batched depending on iteration results.
- Batch Template
- Default template used for batching documents.
- Click Save.
