Document Views

Multiple views may be available for a document, depending on how the document was processed and whether it was produced from Axcelerate. The available views for the current document display at the top of the Viewer panel.

Note: If the Viewer panel header does not have enough space to display all available view options, for example, you shrink your browser window, then the options will display as a drop-down list.

Text
This view displays the document with basic formatting using information extracted at ingestion time. It is loaded directly from the underlying database, not from the native file. Text view is immediately available. It is suited to get a quick overview of a document's content. Case Managers often use this view for evaluating a matter before review.
For email documents, the document's metadata is used to populate an email header, in addition to the document text.
For Bloomberg Chat documents, the Text view is restricted to the actual chat message content. It does not show the additional messages such as enter/leave notifications and disclaimers.
Near Native
This view shows a high-fidelity PDF rendition of the documents. If the file cannot be displayed within 2 seconds, the display automatically switches to Text view, so you can begin to review the document content. Near Native view provides the option to print with or without any annotations that are applied to this view (does not include redactions).
Image
Image view is shown if an image is available for the document. This can be imported overlay images, slip-sheets or legacy conversion images.
Redaction
This view shows the content that will be produced in an image production. If a document contains an Image view, that view is mirrored in the Redaction view. If Image view is not available, Redaction view uses the native file.
This view is used to redact documents. When a document contains redactions, you have the option to print this view with transparent redactions, with burned-in redactions, or without redactions.
Production
This view is shown after the document has been produced through Axcelerate 5. If the document is contained in more than one production, you must select the desired production before you can view the production image.

Views for Microsoft Excel documents

For Excel documents, the Near Native and Redaction views display an optimized rendition:

  1. Near Native view displays an overview representation.
  2. Redaction view displays the print representation.
