Reconversion
Document reconversion is supported within the Axcelerate 5 user interface. Reconversion allows you to retry documents that initially failed conversion or reconvert documents with new settings, e.g., turn tracked changes on or off for Microsoft Word documents.
Caution: Reconversion deletes annotations.
Important: Documents containing redactions on the near native cannot be reconverted unless the redactions are first removed. However, if there is an Image view for a document, redactions are applied to this image. In this case, reconversion can be run, because it has no effect on redacted images. The reconversion result will only be shown in Near Native view, but never in Redaction view.
To reconvert documents, proceed as you would to submit a typical bulk conversion job. In the Reconversion area of the Conversion Options window, select one of the following options:
- Do not
perform any reconversions; only convert unconverted documents.
Use this option to add missing conversions for the selection. If you combine Viewing with this option, conversion creates display files for documents that were only converted for production or printing before.
- Reconvert
documents that previously failed conversion and convert unconverted
documents
Use this option to retry failed conversions and add missing conversions for the selection. This option includes any conversion covered by the preceding option.
