Batch Creation Prerequisites

Before review batches can be created, your matter must have the following:

  • A tagging arrangement configured for document review, linked to a Review State value, that is, a target review state.
  • A configured batching template, if one will be used (required if you will use full batching).
  • Important: Default batching templates are available in each project. If any of these templates do not meet the project needs or are not used, a Case Manager can modify, deactivate or delete those templates. A Case Manager can also create new templates as needed.

  • A universe containing the documents that are to be batched for review.
  • At least one field value available to add to the universe as a review workflow (typically the Responsive value or Issue field values).
  • If you are using a custom universe, the field value must be added to the universe as a review workflow before you can batch documents. At the same time, you link the workflow to a target review state and batching template.
